Title: I agree with you
Description: to a certain extent
Scooby - July 6, 2012 09:27 PM (GMT)
I agree that Startrek.com does suck, in that they banned too many people for no reason at all, or for very minor offenses. It happened to me twice at Startrek.com The first time I was suspended because of Colin's reporting me and some other long time members to show his "power" he had at Startrek.com The second time, I did absolutely nothing wrong. I was baited by Wissaboo and a dual account she was using. Then her and her gang of satellite board friends mass reported me and I was permanently banned.
But, I decided to walk away from Startrek.com after they permanently banned me. I didn't fault others for still wanting to post there like Yanks, Chronic, and some other banned members. And I didn't want the place shut down so no one else could post.
I agree that something should be done to get a new Admin staff at Startrek.com that would take the time to get to know the long time members and decide who was trouble, and who wasn't. They would never answer any emails on why I was banned, and I heard many other long time members got that same treatment from the Admin staff. To this day, I don't know why I was banned except for I assume it was due to Wissaboo using dual accounts to mass report me.
The only solution, as I see it, is to let EVERYONE post at Startrek.com unless a MAJOR offense has taken place. At least the original Admin staff would tell you what you did wrong, so when you repeated that same behavior, you would know why you were suspended or banned.

While I fully realize that you are speaking to startrek.comsucks, and not to me, it seems to fall just outside of my personal temptation threshold to resist the opportunity to finally address the Voice Of Reason herself.
So I'm curious, why do all of the long time Star Trek posters hate each other so much? Why is there constant warfare and vying for power between them? Why has Somerled taken it upon himself to publicly disparage me since the moment I arrived online? Did I ever do anything to him?! (The correct answer here is: "NO!".)
I well understand the psychology behind the general actions of all of the players here, of course, but I am looking for the little personal quirks and foibles that drive them to perform as they do...the inside dirt, if you will.
It was never my intention for my online Star Trek experience to devolve into a case study in human dysfunction, but since that is the point at which we've inexorably arrived, any insights which you can provide me as regards the histories of the principle antagonists will be much appreciated.
Best regards,
truespock

A very well thought out post umm...
I had a lot to say too but decided not to say much. I'll just say that, for my part, I'm practicing a lot of restraint by just putting up a few posts every so often instead of the things I could be doing . I already won this as far as I'm concerned from having to restrain myself. That site is weak and those administrators are stupid <_<

The hatetred all came down to big ego's in my opinion. Starbase63's ego, for wanting to be King of Startrek.com There were actually contest polls held in this regard. If anyone questioned Starbase63's opinions on startrek.com, he would get them suspended or banned. He did this for many, many years. Wissaboo had hatetred toward me and still to this day, tries to get as much revenge as she can against me, all after I banned her from my Archers Angels Message Board over 8 years ago. That's right, her hate for me has been 8 years now, over a small little message board about Captain Archer from Star Trek.
So we have a group of members on STL's that don't like wissa's message board, and wissa has a group of members that don't like STL's. These two groups mass report each other, in order to "win" the majority at Startrek.com It was, and has always been, wissa and starbase63 keeping the fire burning all these years. Then when someone starts a board like this one, or like my Nexcalibur site, they cry foul. They want to be number one in Trek Boards. Startrek.com Admin's solution was to ban most of the people from both of these groups. Somehow wissa did not get banned along with thr rest of us. She was, and still is, one of the major players promoting hate on startrek.com as well as the satellite sites she runs. I acutally feel sorry for her family, given all the time and effort she's put in on running message boards and posting on them. Her kids, in my opinion, basically grew up without a hands-on mother for the past 8 years or so. She was never like that when I first met her years ago.
As far as I am concerned, I have moved on. I don't spend alot of time on message boards anymore, except for the one's where I meet up with real world trek fans at comic con's and conventions. I stay away from hate and bad karma as much as possible now.
If you or the admin of this site got something to say, then SAY IT. There's nothing stopping you. If I don't like what you say, or want to defend myself, I will. Now that being said, I am going out to the lake with my real world friends and have some fun this afternoon.

First of all, Scooby, thank you for your courteous and cogent response to me. As it turns out, your assessment of the ego-wars around here tallies exactly with my own. The behavior you attribute to Colin is just what I have always experienced from him at STL. It's almost as if he's sensed a more 'well-established personality' in me and has been terrified of it from the beginning. Then, although I've never had a serious problem with Melissa, it is very evident to me that her penchant for trying to control the situation is at least equal to Colin's.
Rest assured, startrek.comsucks and I ARE saying what we came here to say--not that we expect anything to change because of it. Though he and I have somewhat differing stories to tell, we share a very keen interest in rubbing the offending parties' faces in it until we are satisfied that the point has been made...and I mean, made HARD!
Meanwhile, I have come to the same conclusion as you have about time spent on the internet being time irretrievably wasted. At some point, when I am convinced that I have sufficiently impressed upon Colin, and his motley band of blind, mindless adherents, the complete and utter distain with which I regard them all, and thoroughly humiliated Ian for the heinous crime of sneering at his unequivocal better, I have a lake near my house as well that I can see eventually spending some 'real world' time at myself.

There are quite a few people that feel the same way you and i do truespock, in regards to wissa and starbase. Unfortunately, some of them don't want to get banned from the satellite sites, so they say nothing deragatory on the message boards about wissa and starbase. You have found that out first hand. It happened to me as well.
Try not to let the haters get to you truespock. I find that being around the haters is such bad karma and can bring a person down. I really feel that is the goal of starbase and wissa. I had so many good friends I met on startrek.com over the years, but they have both tainted my reputation with lies and mis-truths so that people would NOT come to my archers angels board or nexcalibur board. They both will do anything to get people to post on STL's and Arch Angels, because their entire lives revolve around the satellite trek boards.
Enjoy yourself and have fun truespock, in whatever you choose to do. I recommend staying far away from the bad karma as much as possible......
